Blue Parrot Tea Room Advertisement, The Fort Collins Courier (Fort Collins, CO), March 15, 1923

The Vagabond King Announcement, Evening Express (Los Angeles, CA), March 7, 1930

Wanna go to a “talkie?” Set in France in the Middle Ages, this film was a originally a Broadway and West End operetta. The star, Dennis King, who played the lead role of Villon on both stages, reprised the role for the movie. Also of note, apparently Dennis King and his co-star, Jeanette MacDonald didn’t particularly like each other, probably because King was a tad too much of an egotist.

The UCLA Film and Television Archive owns the only known print of this film.

Elgin Watch Advertisement, The Fort Collins Courier (Fort Collins, CO), March 15, 1923

New Post Toasties Advertisement, McNairy County Independent (Selmer, TN), March 10, 1916

Please don’t forget to eat your Post Toasties! I’m not sure how long Post made these, but they had a good run. A great knock-off of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.

Family Cat Turned On Gas, Atlanta Semi-Weekly Journal (Atlanta, GA), March 5, 1912

I knew it! Cats have always been trying to do away with humans! Just kidding (sort of)
